XHTML Strict sites are boring?

It is an example site that is xhtml strict, and is definately not boring! (at least if you are web developer) He has succeeded in creating cross-browser dropdown menus via css on a strict page and I have to tell you, I studied this page for hours, marveling at its simplicity. If you like this kind of stuff, visit A List Apart and HTML Dog. They are two of the best style sites out there…and are my inspiration to strive for the strict validation.
