With Ace finally gone, maybe we all can finally get to hear some real singing vice that overdone falsetto he had. Last week was very VERY good, singing Standards should be the test of ALL singers imho, so in that light all the contestants did above average.
This week however, they all get to sing (what?) Bocelli? Huh? Not sure what that is all about, not even other opera singers can sing like him (or even close to him so I hear…not an opera-o-phile)
Updates in the morning you guys…better come prepared, there is a test at the end.
UPDATE AFTER WATCHING THE SHOW
OK. after watching the show, I was unsurprised. The performances were mediocre and the judges were boring. Apparently either I have serious auditory issues requiring immediate medical attention, or I simply do not understand vocal performances…I was 180 degrees out from the judges and apparently the opinions on the Idol forums. I thought that Taylor, Kathrine, and Chris were the best while the token fence post…sorry, I mean Kellie, was the most pitiful of the night. Elliot made Paula cry? me too but for totally different reasons.
If I were in charge, the bottom three would be Kellie, Elliot, and Chris/Paris but because America (read those that have nothing better to do with their lives than actually vote) will put Kathrine Taylor and Chris in the bottom and Vote off Kathrine.
I was reading the forums this morning and the buzz there is that Kat is “trashy” and “innaproprate” for the show. ??huh?? She is a singer remeniscent of Julie London in the 50’s…smoky lounge, leaning against the piano crooning with passion. I guess this is lost on the below 20 crowd.
